If the meet had events where splits were taken, you will need to create duplicate events to record the splits in the meet file. It is expected that teams will always plan to acquire lead-off splits for relays, as well as most intermediate-distance splits for longer events (e.g. 400 splits on 800 free, 100 splits on 200 back/breast/fly). Only one split can be obtained per event. Be sure that your meet announcement contains information regarding planned splits.
If using Dolphins or other electronic watches, the splits will automatically be entered as splits in each event. See §7.3.1.G Dolphin Splits. Even if the splits are correctly entered in the individual event, the times do not always import correctly, thus it is important to duplicate the event and enter the splits separately as described below.
Note: If times were imported from touchpads or another system that registers all splits (not just one designated split, but all 50 or 100 meter splits), then the process below is unnecessary for relay lead-offs. You will still need to create a separate event and record any intermediate-distance splits.
For example: let’s say that events 15 and 16 are the Girls (15) and Boys (16) 1500 free. You need to record 800 free splits from those events.
Duplicate the Event
[Events] → [Copy]
Copy Events From: ‘15 - 16’ (from the example–use your event numbers)
Copy events to: 215
We will use '1xx' event numbers for our Time trials and '2xx' event numbers for our splits
Check: ‘All new events are Time Trial Events’
Click [OK] → [OK]
Repeat for any other events that need splits, then click [Close].
It is helpful to use a pattern for event numbers: once you have numbered your meet events, add 100 for each split, so you know the 100s are splits. Keep the same last two digits of the event so it is easy to see where the splits came from.
Select the new event(s) and adjust the distance to the desired split. In our example, events 215 and 216 must be adjusted from 1500 to 800 free.
You should also un-check the ‘Score Event’ box on the bottom half of the window. Split times are recorded as valid times, but are not eligible for points, ribbons, or awards.
Click [OK] when complete.
Add Event to Splits Session
Next, click [Sessions]. If you used the EFSL template, you may already have a session labeled “Splits”. If you don’t, click [Add] and create a Splits Session.
Select the ‘Splits’ session, and double click on the newly-created event(s) in the Event List (215 and 216 in our example) to add them to the Session Schedule.
[Close] the Events screen when finished.
Copy Entries
[Seeding] → [Copy]
Source Event Number: 115 (from the example–use your event numbers)
Target Event Number: 215
Select ‘Copy Entries to Target Event and leave Source Event entries unchanged’
Options: ‘Copy Scratched Status’
Click [OK] → [Yes] → check the COPY box beside every name → [Save]
Repeat for each event.
Select new events and click [Start Seeding] → [OK]
Enter Split Times
If you used Dolphins (or pads/buttons) and the splits are already in your results, It is often easiest to print the results from the original race with splits, then use the printout to enter the split times into the event for the split results.
Make sure you have told Meet Manager to print splits on your results.
From the Run screen, click [Preferences] → [Results for List and Score]
Select Splits: ‘Cumulative’ → [Close]
Print results by selecting the original event → [Score] The printed results will have the splits printed below each name.
If you do NOT have splits already in the original results, then just enter the split times in the new events you created for splits. This would be the approach you would use if you are using manual watches only and are entering the times off of your colored paper lane timer sheets for splits (or whatever system you are using to record splits).
Click on the event you created for the split results. Enter the split times as the Finals Time for each swimmer, then click [List].
Note: We do not click on [Score] here, as there are not points, ribbons, or awards for split times, even though they are entered into the EFSL database as a valid time. If you set up the event correctly, the [Score] button should be grayed out.
Select [File] → [Export] → [Results for Swim Manager or SWIMS or NCAA or USMS]
Team: leave blank for ‘All Teams’
Gender: ‘Both’
Relays: ‘Relays Plus Athletes’
Events: ‘Standard Events’ and ‘Time Trial Events’
Select ‘Include Splits’
Select [OK] → [OK]
Navigate to your folder for files from this meet
Select [OK] → [OK]
Make sure all results are finalized, then create and save a backup in the folder with your meet files.
Email the following files to the EFSL Administrative Official as soon as possible. Delay in sending the required files will result in financial penalties against the team.

Meet Results Report
Exported results file for Team Manager
It is important to save and preserve records from each meet. If there is any future question or protest regarding results, the admin official should be able to retrieve the original documents to assist in any investigation. These original documents, along with the electronic meet file, can be used to justify times awarded or to correct any errors.
Physical and/or digital meet records are kept for the entire season, and may be discarded after SD Champs.
For each meet, the admin official should preserve the following in the meet file:
Original timing sheets with handwritten watch times
Original Order of Finish
AO & Referee heat sheet with notes (race numbers if using Dolphins/Time-Drops, any notes regarding adjudication of times)
Original Scratch Sheet
Printout of complete meet results
