Welcome to the Stroke and Turn Judge certification course, and thank you for your commitment to officiating!
Swimming relies on your involvement, but above all, the athletes count on you. The primary objective of officiating is to guarantee fair competition at EFSL sanctioned meets. Without officials present, swimmers' recorded times would not be recognized.
As you embark on the journey to become a Stroke and Turn Judge, we will cover the fundamentals of officiating, explore the technical rules of swimming in detail, and guide you in developing the necessary on-deck skills.
By the end of the Stroke and Turn training, you will be able to:
Identify all components of each stroke as it complies with the applicable rules.
Apply the technical rules of swimming to identify infractions for disqualification.
Recognize how your roles and responsibilities coordinate with the officiating team at a meet.
Follow the process by which an identified infraction becomes a disqualification.
Understand the pathway required to complete the Stroke and Turn certification.
