Administrative Officials take on the role of ensuring valid times are recorded for every athlete who legally competes in a race. They also help facilitate an efficient meet. Their role is a critical part of the Officials Team.
As you begin the process of becoming an Administrative Official, this course provides an overview of your preparation before a meet, your responsibilities during the meet, reflections after the meet, and wraps up with your next steps to certification.
After this course, you will be able to:
Identify your responsibilities pre-meet, during the meet, and post-meet
Recognize how your role and responsibilities coordinate with the officiating team and other meet personnel
Demonstrate an accurate process of managing meet entries and scratches
Demonstrate accurate seeding of timed finals, preliminary, and final heats
Differentiate the timing systems and affect the resolution of all timing issues
Apply USA Swimming rules to determine, record, and post official results and scores
Understand the pathway required to complete the Administrative Official certification
